Sofia Benavides, FNP-BC, is a board-certified Family Nurse Practitioner with 10 years of combined nursing and advanced practice experience. She earned her Family Nurse Practitioner degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University in New Jersey.
Prior to becoming a Nurse Practitioner, Sofia spent seven years as a Registered Nurse, gaining extensive experience in acute and critical care. She worked at Holy Name Medical Center and as a travel nurse, caring for patients in the intensive care unit (ICU), step-down unit, and cardiac telemetry. These experiences provided Sofia with a strong clinical foundation and an appreciation for caring for patients through complex and often challenging health conditions.
For the past three years, Sofia has practiced as a Family Nurse Practitioner, with experience in pain management, functional and holistic medicine, and aesthetic medicine. Her professional background also includes serving as an adjunct professor, where she had the opportunity to educate and mentor future registered nurses.
Sofia is fluent in both English and Spanish and is passionate about providing compassionate, individualized care.
Sofia’s philosophy is centered on treating the whole person rather than simply addressing a symptom. She believes patients should feel heard, respected, and actively involved in their care. Her goal is to help patients feel better, improve their quality of life, and provide them with the education and support they need to make informed decisions about their health.
Professionally, Sofia is committed to continuing to expand her knowledge and clinical expertise while incorporating evidence-based, integrative approaches to patient care. She strives to continue growing as a provider, educator, and advocate for her patients.
Outside of work, Sofia enjoys spending time with her two children and maintaining an active lifestyle. She enjoys working out, riding her bicycle, and playing tennis, and values finding balance between her professional life, family, and personal wellness.
